The 20th edition of the Night of Museums in Warsaw will take place on 18 May. A parade of vintage buses will once again take to the streets and special lines from the Palace of Culture and Science will operate in the evening.

Parade of vintage buses

At 1:00pm, a parade of vintage buses will set off from the area in front of the Zajezdnia Stalowa. The vehicles will travel along the route:
Zajezdnia Stalowa (start of the parade) – Stalowa – Szwedzka – al. “Solidarności” – Most Śląsko-Dąbrowski – Grodzka – Wybrzeże Gdańskie – Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie – Wisłostrada tunnel – Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie – Wioślarska – Solec – Most Łazienkowski – Wał Miedzeszyński – Wybrzeże Szczecińskie – Okrzei – Jagiellońska – Ratuszowa – Inżynierska – Stalowa – Zajezdnia Stalowa (end of the parade)

Buses to the starting point will be provided at approximately 12:00pm. The parade will not stop at intermediate stops.

The parade’s starting point (77 Stalowa Street) can be reached by bus 135 (to Metro Szwedzka bus stop), tram 23 (to Czynszowa tram stop), the M2 underground line (to the Szwedzka metro station) or by Veturilo bike (to the 9690 Metro Szwedzka station).

Dozens of vintage buses will take part in the parade — including a Chausson AH48 from 1950, a Somua from 1933, or the iconic ‘cucumbers’ and ikaruses. Detailed list below.

Parade of vintage trams

At 5:30pm, a parade of vintage trams will set off from the Plac Narutowicza. The vehicles will travel along the route:
Plac Narutowicza (start of the parade) – Grójecka – Al. Jerozolimskie – most ks. J. Poniatowskiego – al. Zieleniecka – Targowa – most Śląsko-Dąbrowski – al. „Solidarności” – Marszałkowska – Nowowiejska – Filtrowa – Plac Narutowicza (end of the parade)

Trams to the starting point will be provided at approximately 5:00pm. The parade will not stop at intermediate stops.

The parade’s starting point (Plac Narutowicza – Narutowicza Square) can be reached by buses 157, 191, 517, 521 (to Pl. Narutowicza bus stop), trams 1, 7, 9, 15, 35, 36 (to Pl. Narutowicza tram stop) or by Veturilo bike (to the 9532 Plac Narutowicza station).

Museum lines

In the evening, special lines will go out on the streets of the capital to take visitors to the museums that are open to the public — two of them will be operated by vintage buses. After a break of several years, the network of special lines serviced by modern buses is returning in a modified form.

Bus line A: Emilii Plater – Pl. Narutowicza

Line A, operated by vintage buses, will run every 5 minutes between 6:30pm and 1:30am on the route:
EMILII PLATER – Emilii Plater – Świętokrzyska – Prosta – Towarowa – Grójecka – PL. NARUTOWICZA – Grójecka – Al. Jerozolimskie – Emilii Plater – EMILII PLATER

During the trip towards Plac Narutowicza, the buses will stop only at the stops: Norblin, Rondo Daszyńskiego and Pl. Zawiszy, and in the direction of Emilii Plater: Pl. Zawiszy.

Bus line A route map

The A line will be operated by most of the buses taking part in the parade — in addition to Jelcz 043 No. 8081, Solaris Urbino 15 No. 8731, Jelcz PAT-4 No. 643. Additionally, also Jelcz M181M No. 7891.

Bus line R: Emilii Plater – Zajezdnia Stalowa

The Stalowa Depot will also open its gates! Between 6:00pm and 11:00pm, Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe invites you to visit the bus depot on Stalowa Street. From aboard a modern electric bus, you will be able to observe how the depot, which operates over 300 buses, works. The guides will talk about the daily operation of the vehicles, repairs of the fleet, and show how the buses coming down from the city are refuelled, loaded and washed.

Commuter line R, operated by historic and vintage buses, will run every 15 minutes between 6:00pm and 11:00pm on the route:

Bus line R route map

The R line will be operated by historic and vintage buses from the collection of Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe – including Somua from 1933, Neoplan N4020td, Jelcz M181M, Ikarus 260.73A or Solaris Urbino 15 I.

Bus line P: Metro Wilanowska – Kolejka Piaseczyńska (Piaseczno Narrow Gauge Railway)

The Piaseczno-Grójec Narrow-Gauge Railway Association invites you to take a ride on the narrow-gauge train. There will be a special bus line from Warsaw to the departure station at Piaseczno Miasto, whose arrivals will be coordinated with the train departures (separate tickets can be purchased on the booking service of the Piaseczno Narrow-gauge Railway).

Line P, operated by vintage bus, will run according to the timetable from 5:00pm to 11:00pm on the route:
Warsaw: METRO WILANOWSKA 14 – Puławska – Piaseczno: Puławska – Okulickiego – Wojska Polskiego – Szkolna – Puławska – Kościuszki – Sienkiewicza – KOLEJKA PIASECZYŃSKA 03 – Wojska Polskiego – Jana Pawła II – Chyliczkowska – Armii Krajowej – Puławska – Warsaw: Puławska – METRO WILANOWSKA

Tram line M: Czynszowa – Pl. Narutowicza

In the evening, tram line M will start running, which will take you from Praga-Północ to the terminus of museum bus lines near the Palace of Culture and Science. The route will end in the heart of Ochota – at Narutowicza Square – where the Tram Festival, an exhibition of historic and technical carriages, will take place from 6:30pm to midnight.

Line M, operated by vintage and modern trams, will run every 15 minutes between 6:30pm and 1:00am on the route:

Other museum lines

In addition to lines served by vintage rolling stock, there will also be those served by modern rolling stock. The buses will take passengers to, for example, the Museum of Polish Vodka, the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, the Copernicus Science Centre, the Wilanów Palace or the Norblin Factory.

Tram Festival

After the parade, until midnight, an exhibition of historic trams will be held in the central place of Ochota, at Narutowicza Square. All the oldest and most valuable vehicles from the historic collection of Warsaw Trams will appear.
